New wabi sabi tableware collection

My green adventures continue, teaching me that being vegan is a process that does not happen overnight. In recent months I have measured myself against different aspects of this lifestyle, such as the need to tune my choices concerning cosmetics and clothing.

Concepts such as eco sustainability, zero waste and  cruelty free products are at the heart of my research. I found that it’s not so easy to square these choices with the time available, as well as learning new recipes in the kitchen or, modifying the known ones, requires a good dose of courage, patience and sense of humor, especially in the event of an uncertain or worse result. The positive aspect is surely the peace that follows from being aligned with one’s own values and the necessary evolution that this path brings with it. Studying, learning new things, getting involved and broadening your horizons is always challenging. They have been  months of ntense work, thinking and, in part, of inner silence, a condition that always accompanies novelties, like the new collection of ceramics I’m working on.

It doesn’t surprise me to see this radical change echoing the need to create a new collection of ceramics for the table and the house. I can not reveal much, but surely white is playing an important part, as well as the search for harmony between shape, color and tactile appeal of the new pieces.

Of course it is a long and delicate process that requires its time, I think the new collection could be ready at the end of summer, according to an optimistic appraisal, with some new shapes, especially concerning the classic mug that has been renewed. The world of plants and flowers inspires the new collection, which has some surprises also in terms of clay that I’m using. From the inspiration then I move to the prototypes phase, to test the rendering and compatibility of the glazes. So stay tuned!
